Thomas was born in Hartington, NE. His father worked at a local grocery store for 23 years before laboring at the Department of Roads. A graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Thomas worked at the Omaha World-Herald and BH Media Group before settling into his current position at the Better Business Bureau. As a leader across multiple organizations, Thomas has helped craft budgets, practice financial responsibility, and demonstrated experienced leadership - all things that the Legislature needs. Thomas has served on various boards, including the board of Completely Kids, which provided educational programs for children and families living in poverty. Thomas and his wife, Stephanie, an educational administrator, live in Omaha.
